Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She competes currently within the UFC Flyweight division. She is also the elder sister of the former UFC Flyweight champ as well as the fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began in the form of an Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller in a unanimous decision. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after taking home bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, a Gold medal in 2011 along with the title of 2016 IFMA amateur Muay Thai world champion. Antonia began her professional career in 2003 and won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 as well as the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina's final fight took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The winner was a unanimous decision. Antonina shevchenko fought her first professional MMA fight in 2002, against Anara bayanova at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won this fight with a TKO in round two and her subsequent 2 matches were held during the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko stopped fighting to focus on kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko won against Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the club in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina defeated Nievera by her superior striking abilities during the clinch final round with knees placed on her body. Antonina Shevchenko received an UFC Contract after this victory. Antonina received an UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi by an unanimous decision. But, she was unable to win her next fight because of an unanimous verdict. Antonina bounced back from the loss and defeated Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke, and was awarded the fight of the night reward in the fight. Shevchenko went 2-2 in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski and lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee.
